Robert Lint -- In every little Kansas
town there are those people who find unique ways to survive. What the

Wes Winters --
In Kansas City,
a town split by two states, a young man from Hays found his niche...in
music. When we shot this story he played at the Westin Crown
Center, he’s since
moved his gig to the 12th
Street Club at the Downtown Kansas City
Marriott. What didn’t change was his talent.

Rusty Mauk -- Over the years, I’ve met folks I call characters.
Kansans of character. In Augusta,
Rusty Mauk fits that profile. I spent an
afternoon with him nearly twenty years ago and made a lifetime friend.

Sissy & Jessica Moore -- Sissy & Jessica Moore
are twins from Winfield who are looking for that big break. They are
singers and songwriters who know the road to stardom is long and difficult.
So they decided to start small on their road to Nashville. Their songs were heard in
unlikely places.

|
John Cyphert -- Sometimes people seem to be born in the wrong
time. Wichitan John Cypert
was one of those. On one cold Wichita
day, stepping into his apartment was like stepping into a time capsule.

|
John & Anna Brown -- Cities in Kansas come in all
sizes, and in McCracken,
Kansas I learned what true
love can be. That’s because John and Anna Brown came into the focus of my
camera lens. I’ve never forgotten their lesson. I’ve never forgotten them.

|
Leon Simmons --
Sometimes in life, it is music that soothes our soul. On Wichita’s west side, occasionally the sound
of an unusual instrument would drift in and out of earshot. Leon Simmons
was the source. A man whose music was played just for him--and for those in
his heart.

|
Danny Neifert -- Sometimes there are those relationships between
people that make us take a step back and say--how wonderful. Such was the
case with Danny Neifert, the granddaughter of
Daniel Neifert. Danny made a decision in her
life. She decided to take care of her 92 year old grandfather, a former
teacher of the Hopi Indians. She wanted to learn life’s lessons from him.

Charlie Moore -
In the heart of Wichita
used to be this old brick building. Inside was a man named Charlie Moore.
His soft-spoken manner contained an inner strength. He could straighten your
wheel and your life.
